One-Day Conference for Motorist at Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2000

Kuala Lumpur, 7 November 2000 - The Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2000 (KLIMS 2000) organizers announce today that a one-day motoring conference will be held on 25th November 2000, in conjunction with the KLIMS 2000 exhibition.

The Conference is being organized by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) for all the motorists and motorists-to-be in Malaysia. The conference will feature topics designed to provide information that can equip the public to be better motorist. There will be six topics covered by speakers who are experts in their respective fields and a star speaker who will share on his team's experience in reaching international recognition in motorsports.

The topics are Defensive & Safe Driving Tips; Accidents - you don't wish it happens. What do you do in an accident?; Vehicle Maintenance & What to do should your car breakdown; Future Motoring Trends & Things to Come; Insurance Agents - are they your best friend or your worst enemy? Getting the best car loan - How do you do it? and Building a World Class Motorsports Team. The topic on Accidents will also cover some handy tips on handling road bullies.

According to Cik Aishah Ahmad, President of MAA, "The conference is a form of MAA's contribution towards the motorists and motoring industry of Malaysia. It is heavily sponsored and is definitely worth the attendees' time and money. We want to reach out to as many people as possible and have kept the fees to just a token sum of RM50.00 for the full day and RM30.00 for either the morning or afternoon session. With such a nominal fee, the delegates will not only learn from the conference, but also get to view the exhibits for free and participate in various fun-filled activities that have been lined up.

Conference attendees can expect to hear from speakers such as Saladin Mazlan, an international rally driver, Tuan Ahmad Bahrin bin Idrus of Polis DiRaja Malaysia, Sean Khoo, a defensive and advance driving expert, Ismail Abu Talib of AAM, Lee See Kenn of TNB Research Sdn Bhd, James Ong of the Association of Malaysian Loss Adjusters (AMLA) and Ser Wee Chua of Hong Leong Finance.

The conference which will start at 10am and finish by 4.30pm with a two-hour break for attendees to visit the show, is expected to draw some 300 attendees. The first 100 attendees to register for the conference will be rewarded with a CD clock sponsored by DHL Worldwide Express.

The fourth in the series of international motorshows organized by MAA, KLIMS 2000 exhibition will be held on 25th November till 4th December at PWTC, and will see the unveiling of new models and the showcase of concept cars, prototypes and special vehicles.
